GINGOOG City has experienced an inadequate supply of blood and the Philippine National Red Cross-Gingoog Chapter has been asking the support from the city government through Mayor Erick G. Cañosa.
PNRC Chapter Administrator Marilyn Abian asked the support from the city mayor who also chairs the local Red Cross Council in this city and urged everyone to donate blood.
For his part, City Councilor Jerome Magan, Chairman Committee on Health of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of this city, also urged officials of the 79 barangays here to support the needs of the local red cross to voluntarily donate blood.
“Kulang gyud kaayo ang dugo,” Magan, who is also a practicing doctor, said.
The supply of blood must be maintained and sustained at all times because it is important for all those in need, especially during emergencies, Magan added.
The city experienced an inadequate supply of blood but this experience it also happened in other places nationwide said PNRC Chapter Administrator Abian.
Abian said the PNRC-Gingoog Chapter has already utilized 150 to 212 bags of blood in recent months or five to 10 bags per day.
“Pero karon kulang gyud tag supply sa dugo,” she said.
Abian said the city needs at least 200 bags of blood per month.
