A FACILITY that collects and cleans the wastewater from the drainage and septic tanks is expected to operate anytime this month in Gingoog City, revealed by ABC President City Councilor Robert de Lara
De Lara said this development is a joint venture through the Public Private Partnership (PPP) in the city under the leadership of City Mayor Erick Cañosa, Gingoog City Water District through General Manager Jo Ann Lim, and the FLOV2VS Gingoog, Inc. managed by lawyer Jeremiah Asis.
The Septage Sewage and Water Treatment Plant was inaugurated on July 28, said de Lara.
In a telephone interview this morning, Cenro Roel Dahonog of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) here said that the coastal environment of this city and the entire Gingoog Bay Area will be protected when the facility will be operational.
The Septage Sewage and Water Treatment Plant will collect the wastewater from the canals and the septic tanks in the public market, government buildings, and residential areas across the city, said Dahonog.
In a phone interview, City Councilor Dr. Jerome Magan, chair of the Committee on Health, revealed the said water treatment facility is also a great help in preventing water contamination from the drainage and even from the septic tanks that could cause water-borne diseases.
