THE city government of Gingoog in Misamis Oriental is bent on going after those selling “rotten” or spoiled fish despite a warning from a councilor.
Gingoog City Councilor Dr. Jerome Magan earlier warned fish vendors at the City's Public Market in the city for allegedly selling spoiled fish as he said it's dangerous to everyone's health.
Committee on Health chair Magan of the City Council said he wanted the fish vendors of the City to be more honest to their customers and urged them not to sell rotten fish to the public after he received several complaints about the problem.
Magan said there is an undetermined number of victims in the city on separate occasions.
“All of them experienced diarrhea and abdominal pain after eating rotten fish," he said.
Last week another patient he attended also in the same situation experienced diarrhea and abdominal pain after eating rotten fish they bought at the Agora Market.
“Akong hangyoon ang mga mamaligyaay sa Agora nga undangon na nila ang pagpamaligya sa mga isda'ng dubok kay kini dilikado sa pang lawas,” he said.
In this situation, Magan said he will conduct a committee meeting to be scheduled next week to discuss the matter.
Dr. Magan also said he also look at the possibility by reviewing if there is an ordinance on sanitary
“Kung wala pay ordinance angay kini mugnaon,” he said.
