Gingoog City — About 48 motorelas and side cars were impounded by the Gingoog Traffic Division during a whole day operation at a check point along Graciana road this city Wednesday.
The operation was done upon the order of Supt. Ariel Philip Pontillas, Gingoog City Police Director, to impound all motorelas that operate in the city without permit.
As of 10:00 am of yesterday, nine motorelas were already release after paying the corresponding penalties said SPO4 Reynaldo Mutia, head traffic division.
Mutia clarified that paying the penalty does not mean they can operate in the city again.
“Kinahanglang molukat una sa mga dokumento sama sa business permit arun makabalik sa pag maneho,” he added.
There are about 1,000 motorelas and sidecars operating in the city, said Mutia. But only 300 complied the documents to operate.
