Iligan City — Former city mayor Alejo A. Yañez died from a lingering illness in a hospital in Cagayan de Oro City on Jan. 8. He was 81.
According to city councilor Petronilo Pardillo, the remains of Yañez had been lain in state at the St. Peters Funeral Homes in Acmac, Sta Felomina. Yañez’s necrological services was held at city hall yesterday.
Yañez will be laid to rest at Pryce Gardens in Sta. Filomina on Friday after a mass at St. Michael Cathedral. (Nora Sorino, Goni Loable and Sita Asequia)
