By Ben Serrano, Correspondent BUTUAN City — A former member of the Armed Forces who was already in police drug watch list and another drug personality were killed in shabu raids Friday evening in Rosario, Agusan del Sur. Rosario town Chief of Police, Senior Insp. Christopher Q. Viajar identified the former government soldier as ex-Army Corporal Eddie Berdera who sustained two fatal gunshot wounds after Berdera allegedly resisted arrest and fought back with the raiding police. The raid at Berdera’s house in Purok 1, Brgy. Bayugan 3. Rosario, Agusan del Sur took place at around 7:30 pm, last Friday. Berdera allegedly resisted arrest by pulling his .45 caliber pistol when he noticed the raiding cops. Berdera’s pistol is now seized and will be made as part of evidence including suspected shabu found in Berdera. Berdera was in the local police drug watch list, Viajar claimed. Meanwhile, at around 11:45 pm of the same day, another drug suspect identified by Viajar as certain Ronald Alban alyas Lover Boy who is in the priority target of illegal drugs by the police was also shot dead by police conducting a buy-bust operation after Alban allegedly attempted to shot the police who posed as a buyer. Police found in Alban’s possession were suspected shabu contained in plastic sachet estimated to worth P47 thousand.
