THE oldest human rights lawyers’ network in the country, the Free Legal Assistance Group (Flag), will launch its new book: “Frontliners for Human Rights.
“Founded in 1974, Flag has been at the forefront of landmark legal battles that have shaped Philippine jurisprudence beyond human rights,” Flag member Dana Batnag said.
The book launching, which is in celebration of the network’s 50th anniversary, will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Malcolm Theater, University of the Philippines College of Law in Quezon City this coming Friday, September 26.
The book will also be launched here on September 30 at the Grand Price, Ming-Song Room from 1 pm to 5 pm.
Both events, which is open to the media, highlight landmark legal battles and the role of Flag in advancing human rights, consumer rights, national sovereignty and labor law.
Batnag said the book goes beyond a compilation of cases by also telling the stories of the organization’s lawyers and their clients.
