FIVE fishermen found a body of a dead man floating along the shore in Barangay Consuelo in Magsaysay town this morning.
A police team, after receiving the call, immediately responded and retrieved the unidentified body from the shore and then brought it to the Misamis Oriental Provincial Hospital in the town for proper disposition.
The five fishermen, who found the body, reported the incident to the officials of Barangay Consuelo.
In his spot report, Magsaysay Chief of Police Maj. Jackson P. Cabanatan said the victim may have been suffering from mental illness.
Cabanatan described the victim as male, more or less 50 years old, wearing Bucks basketball shorts, and had no shirt on.
Some witnesses told Cabanatan that they last saw the victim yesterday walking in the middle of the street at high noon and was shirtless and carrying fruits atop his head.
However, the authorities are still investigating and gathering personal information about the victim as of this posting.
