A FARMER in one of the towns in Bukidnon was arrested by members of the Philippine National Police for possessing a high-caliber revolver yesterday.

Police Col. Jun Lagare, Bukidnon Police Provincial Director, identified the suspect as Ramil Lanitan, 42, residing at Purok 7, Barangay Paitan, Quezon of the said province.

Taken from the possession of the suspect were a .357 revolver with three live bullets, two 12-gauge shotgun ammunition.

In a police report sent to Police Regional Director Benjamin Acorda, Lagare said the raiding team swooped down Lanitan's house in virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Wilfredo Bibera, Jr. of the Regional Trial Court (RTC), Clerk of Court, and arrested the former.

The suspect was facing a case under Republic Act 10591 better known as the Comprehensive Firearm and Ammunition and Regulatory Act

The said operation was witnessed by Paitan Barangay chair Charo Lisis with some barangay officials.

The suspect is now under the custody of Quezon Municipal Police.

Lagare expressed his compliment to the responding PNP personnel for a job well done and a relentless effort to arrest the suspect. He also added that cooperation and support of the community is the key to making Bukidnon a safe place to live and do business.
