A 35-year-old factory worker is now behind bars after he was arrested Sunday for rape.
Police Col. Jun Mark Lagare, Bukidnon provincial director, identified the suspect as Marvin Butanilan, residing at Barangay Sankanan, Manolo Fortich of the said province.
Lagare said, Butanilan was nabbed while at Poblacion, Barangay Tankulan, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.
It was learned that a team of arresting officers led by Police M/Sgt. Rynhart Ochia, together with the Police Intelligence Unit of Bukidnon, stormed the area at around 5:30 pm where the suspect was staying, and arrested him.
The suspect did not resist arrest but simply gave himself up to the authorities.
The arrest came in virtue of the warrant of arrest issued by Judge Jeanne Marie Abarrientos of the Regional Trial Court, 10th Judicial Region, Branch 11, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.
The suspect is now temporarily detained at the Manolo Fortich Municipal jail.
Lagare complimented the responding Police personnel for a job well done and relentless effort to place the wanted person under police custody. He also stated that cooperation and support of the community is the key to making Bukidnon a safe place to live and do business.
