Iligan City — An eight-year-old boy was killed after the motorcycle he was riding on was hit by a truck.

According to the office of the Philippine National Police Traffic, the accident occurred at the intersection of Quezon Ave. and Mariano Badelles St. in Barangay Poblacion, last Tuesday at about 10:50 am.
The police report identified the driver of the motorcycle as Alinor Layatan, 28, and the slain victim as Laynor, Alinor’s son.
It was learned that aside for Layatan’s son, his motorcycle was also loaded with sacks of charcoal.
While driving along Quezon Avenue heading west, the motorcycle slammed into an incoming Isuzu Elf truck which driver by Emmanuel Postero, 42, and a resident of Barangay Tubod, this city.
After impact, the truck dragged the motorcycle even as it turned counterclockwise and the two fell off the motorcycle and hit the pavement.
The father and son duo were brought to a hospital but the boy was declared dead on arrivial by doctors.
Further investigations revealed that Layatan failed to present his drivers license.
