IT may be just a simple, run-of-the-mill ball game, but their goals were lofty: Camaraderie, sportsmanship, brotherhood, and, to some, a chance at relieving their youthful stamina.
Composed of people from all walks of life, members of the Lapasan Arcadia Eagles Club (LAEC) and Cagayan de Misamis Eagles Club (CDMEC) participated in a friendly basketball game at the covered court in barangay Lapasan on March 10 at 7 pm.
“Sakto ni nga activity para maka pasingot and maka uban sa lain nga club. Pasalamat ko sa LAEC sa pag imbitar sa amo,” Yogi Yee Hembrador, CDMEC president, said adding “importante gyud nga maka bonding sa lain nga Eagles club.”
Charlo B. Yare, Jr., LAEC president, said that although it was just a friendly game between the two Eagles clubs, it was a way to strengthen their brotherhood of the Fraternal Order of Philippines Eagles because both clubs belong to Northern Mindanao Region-I.
LAEC has been actively promoting activities in their home barangay Lapasan, which included a coastal cleanup along the Lapasan-Gusa coastal road and a bloodletting activity, among others.
“We want to make sure that we do what we can in serving the community, as well as promote the ideals our club stands for,” Yare, Jr. said.
The game ended with a score of 102-108, with CDMEC victorious.
