THE City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWD) quickly provided assistance to families affected by the fire that broke out in Adela Masterson, Zone 7A, Barangay Carmen. This incident marks the third fire to impact Cagayan de Oro City on Sunday.
The CSWD distributed rice, hygiene kits, and sleeping linens to those affected in Barangay Carmen, as well as in Barangay Nazareth. City Hall stated that their prompt action aimed to support all families impacted by the fires across the three affected areas.
The city government, along with Barangay Carmen, led by Punong Barangay Raineir Joaquin ‘KapKik’ Uy, joined efforts to assist the victims.
“The community came together to ensure that no one was left without support,” said Uy.
This aid distribution not only responds to the series of fires that occurred in a single day, but the CSWD is also working diligently to ensure that everyone receives the necessary help.
The CSWD is reminding residents to stay vigilant to prevent future fires. City officials are committed to providing assistance through the CSWD, and a directive from the mayor’s office stated that they would do everything possible to support all fire victims affected by these tragic events.
