THE weekend blackouts would continue as the Cagayan Electric Power and Light Co. (Cepalco) announced another round of power supply interruptions that would last for at least 24 hours today until tomorrow in many areas of the city and Misamis Oriental.
Cepalco scheduled a 12-hour blackout today due to the construction of the 13.8-kv Puntodector line at Licoan junction, a line revision at Puntod, guy-wire installation of the 69-kv Kauswagan-Puntod line at NHA Phase 3, pole relocation in Capisnon and the reconfiguration of the Kauswagan substation’s incoming 69-kv “BUS.”
Today’s blackout is expected to affect the surrounding vicinities of Capistrano st., Corrales St., Velez St., Burgos St., and CM Recto Ave., Bayabas, NHA Phase 2, and all of Macabalan for 12 hours from 6am to 6pm.
Cepalco would also implement a 2 hours power switching from 6am to 8am for its 69kv customers Limketkai Mall in Lapasan, Gaisano City in CM Recto Ave, and Lim Ket Kai Mill in Puntod.
Some portions of Iponan, Bulua, NHA Phase 1, RER Subdivision Phase 1 and 2, Carmen, Patag and all of Barangay Consolacion would experience power interruptions for 1 hour and 30 minutes from 6 am to 7:30 am and again at 4 pm to 6 pm.
Tomorrow, due to installation works of a pre-formed line product along the newly upgraded 69-kv Kirahon-Tagoloan line and maintenance work, portions of Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental would have a 6 am to 6 pm blackout, and some parts of the city would be affected, too.
Power switching would be implemented by Cepalco in Bugo, Puerto, Agusan, Tablon, Cugman, Gusa, Lapasan and Indahag would have blackouts from 6 am to 7:30 am, and again at 4:30 pm to 6pm.
Cepalco said power would be restored immediately once line and switching works are completed earlier than scheduled.
