ILIGAN City councilor Sorilie Bacsarpa, in a statement to media yesterday, said that the post of her being pregnant on Facebook is “unfair” and “not true.”

She then added she is contemplating legal action against the one who posted it as it is “cyber libel.” Although she said this is a fake account, it can be determined as to who owned the account.

“There will be processes on this, the truth is on our side,” she said.

To note, Bacsarpa is single and running for a third term as councilor under the “red” team of Mayor Celso G. Regencia.

She said she is trying to be “strong.”

She added she tries to sleep well at night despite the “libelous” posts on social media which have become “personal.”

She said she tries to look at it at the “lighter side” as this could be among the hazards when one enters politics.

The post had her linked to another councilor who is married and because of that “link” she had become “pregnant.”

It was learned that the libelous post has since been deleted.
