THREE most wanted personalities in Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, and Cagayan de Oro City, were successfully arrested by authorities this week.
The first to be arrested was a female wanted person identified as Janna Sabellina, 18, a resident of Divine Mercy, Opol, Misamis Oriental.
Police Major Edzel Macasero, Officer-in-Charge, Alubijid Municipal Police Station, said Sabellina was tagged as the number one most wanted person city level for the crime of illegal possession of drugs.
Macasero said, his men together with personnel from Opol Municipal Police Station under Police Major Michael Lacasan, and policemen from Macabalan police station under Police Major Mario Mantala, conducted an operation at the said place last December 11 at 3:45 pm and arrested the suspect.
The said operation was in virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Vicente Rosales of the Regional Trial Court (RTC), Branch 38. No bail bond was recommended for the suspect’s supposed temporary liberty.
The following day another most wanted person was nabbed by responding policemen assigned at Villanueva police station.
Police Major Dennis Cerilla of the said police station, identified the arrested suspect as Luis Yagma, 41, residing at Sitio Kimaya of the said municipality.
The suspect, who was arrested at about 10:30 in the morning for a sexual assault case, was the number five most wanted person at the municipal level.
Cerilla and his men arrested Yagma in virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Evelyn Nery of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 19.
Nery slapped the suspect with a P200,000 bail bond for his temporary liberty.
Last December 13 another most wanted person was arrested in Tangub City, Misamis Occidental.
Police Lt. Reynelda Almento of the Tangub City Police Station, identified the suspect as Julieto Barrientos, 41, residing at Purok 5, Barangay Bocator of the said city.
Barrientos who is the 8th most wanted person of the said city with two counts of rape will be rot in jail if he loses in the case.
Judge Sylvia Machacon of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 16 of Tangub city recommended a no bail bond for the suspect.
Police Regional Director Benjamin Acorda, Jr., commended the operating personnel for a job well done and encouraged all men and women in uniform of Misamis Occidental and Misamis Oriental as well of Cagayan de Oro City, to continue their unwavering efforts and commitment to arrest and neutralized all wanted persons in the province and in the cities
He also requested the public to support the Philippine National Police in the attainment of its mission through cooperation and giving of timely and relevant information.
