Cops nab OFW for statutory rape

ILIGAN City police had arrested a 48-year-old overseas Filipino worker for statutory rape at 7 pm Monday.

Iligan City Police Office Director Police Dominador Estrada identified the suspect as Alaric Tampos, a resident of Zone Libra, Barangay Suarez.

Tampos, according to police, is the number 1 most wanted person at the station level.

The arrest came after the tracker team of Iligan City Police Station 2, led by Police Maj. Jose Marlon Agabon, Intelligence Officer, under the direct supervision of Police Maj. Marvin Cajegas, Officer-In-Charge, successfully served the warrant of arrest at Sitio Nonucan, Barangay Maria Cristina of the said city.

The warrant was issued by Judge Anisah Umpa of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 2 of the 12th Judicial Region, Iligan City dated December 28, 2018, with no bail recommended.
