TWO unemployed suspected pushers were arrested during a buy and bust operation by the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office this morning.
Cocpo Police Director Aaron Mandia, identified the suspects as Edgar Matunog, 44, residing at Sto. Niño, Lapasan, this city; and Benjie Baconga, 56 of San Roque of the same barangay.
One of the suspects’ companion identified as a certain Cocoy Casiño, residing at Sitio Mambato of the said barangay was able to evade arrest and is now at large.
The operation was made by elements of Agora police under Police Capt. Ernesto Sanchez at 12:30 dawn in Sitio Sto. Niño.
Before the arrest, a police asset was able to buy a sachet from Matunog.
During a body search, authorities found another three sachets containing suspected shabu with a street value of P1,632.
The two were arrested except for Casiño who is now the subject of a police manhunt.
The suspects are now temporarily detained at Police Station 3 in Agora, Lapasan pending filing of charges in violation of Anti-Drugs Law.
