THE contractor of the Talisayan zipline project, Jejors Construction Corp., said today, September 15, that the nearly P50 million project is 65% complete.

Engineer Joy Centino, a representative for the company, said the project was delayed due to a “suspension order” from the Provincial Engineering Office.

She called the order a “variation order.”

“471 days gyud ang project duration namo pero natagaan mi og suspension order tungod naay mga technical issues nga na encounter namo pag mobilize namo ana nga project,” Centino said.

Centino denied that the project was a “ghost project,” stating that the company has not received any payment and submitted its first billing on March 31.

“Wala’y ghost projects, wala pa (lang) sya nahuman,” she said.

The suspension was in effect from June 16 until August 31.

Centino clarified that the photos of the project circulating online show only the endpoint structure.

“Ang departure area naa sa taas sa Sipaka,” she said, adding that most of the work has been completed at the Sipaka site.

Centino said the company is now coordinating with the Provincial Engineering Office and the cable supplier, noting that they are also considering wind velocity for the installation.

“Naa nata’y order today,” she said, confirming they had received a mandate from the province to resume construction.
