Commie fighter killed in Gingoog clash

A COMMUNIST guerrilla was killed after a clash between soldiers of the Army’s 58th Infantry Battalion and fighters of the New People’s Army in Barangay Alagatan in Gingoog City yesterday afternoon.

1Lt. Vincent Mark C. Maddul, civil-military operation officer of the 58IB, identified the casualty as Susanito S. Hendina, 59, single, and a resident of Barangay Rosario in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental.

Maddul said the remains of Hendina were sent to a mortuary in Gingoog City.

Maddul added that the troop seized one M16 rifle, and two backpacks after the armed clash that lasted about 20 minutes.
