COMMANDER Bravo, also known as Sultan Abdullah Macapaar, commander of the North West Mindanao Command of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), on Wednesday, May 21, expressed his intention to support detained MILF members in availing themselves of the government’s amnesty program.
Macapaar, who was appointed by former President Rodrigo Duterte as a member of the Bangsamoro Parliament, visited the Philippine National Police Regional Office (PRO-10) in Camp Alagar, where he conveyed his support for the amnesty initiative.
“Sana po ay mabigyan nang parole ang lahat nang MILF, mabigyan po sila nang amnesty,” Macapaar said.
He assured PRO-10 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Jaysen De Guzman of his commitment to the government's peace process in Mindanao.
“Ang minimithi po namin ay pagkakaisa, walang Moslem, walang Christian,” he added.
Macapaar also pledged to assist in peace development efforts and help implement government programs and projects, particularly in the Bangsamoro region.
“Kami po ay tutulong sa peace process,” the MILF commander said.
For his part, De Guzman said Macapaar’s visit to PRO-10 builds trust and strengthens the relationship between law enforcement and their “brothers in Bangsamoro.”
He said cooperation, mutual respect, and shared aspirations are essential to creating a safer, stronger, and more inclusive community.
De Guzman noted that it was Macapaar’s first visit to the regional police headquarters, a gesture he said symbolizes a shared goal of achieving lasting peace.
