ILIGAN City ― This city will undertake a weekly cleanup drive in the face of fears of another dengue outbreak here.
Caesarve Siacor, president of the city’s Association of Barangay Council, yesterday told reporters that chairs of the 44 barangays here will hold a meeting tomorrow even as it was learned too that mayor Frederick Siao will also be issuing a memo to all barangays and all people concerned to undertake weekly clean up drives in every barangay and among other things, to prevent the spread of dengue as there have been reported cases of dengue, although it had not yet reached alarming levels overall in the city.
Earlier, Atty. Leo Zaragoza reported that his son came up with dengue and the hospital bills that the family had spent was P147,000, which sent alarm bells regarding the said disease brought about by mosquitoes.
To note, the national government had reminded people to make the necessary steps against said concern as increasing cases have been reported all over the country.
