By Ben Serrano, Correspondent  BUTUAN City — Former Congresswoman Charito “Ching” Plaza thanked the local media group, Butuan Press Club (BPC), for endorsing her to the President-elect’s cabinet. Should the President-elect Rodrigo Duterte not appoint her, Plaza said she would still support her “idol.” In an exclusive interview at her office with some local Duterte supporters to get her reaction in the media group endorsement, Plaza told Gold Star Daily, she prefers to serve Department of Tourism (DOT) saying her land of birth Caraga Region have more tourism sites that are world–class waiting to be developed but still untapped. “I am not really that very much interested, I will just abide with what President-elect Duterte will tasked me to do but if given the opportunity to serve I prefer the Department of Tourism,” Plaza said. During 8th to 10th Congress from 1987 to 1998, Plaza served as Chairperson on House Committee of Tourism, Chairperson on House Committee on Public Information and Vice Chair on both National Defense and Appropriations. From 1992 to 1998, Plaza served as a member of the Commission on Appointments.
