BUTUAN City — The Caragaa police here are now in full alert while precautionary and safety measures like placing checkpoints all over strategic areas in the region to thwart possible terrorists’ attacks.
In a press statement, Police Regional Office (PRO 13) regional director Chief Supt. Rolando Felix ordered the regional police to intensify security measures in the region like the conduct of more patrol operations, 24-hour checkpoints and strict monitoring on all entry and exit points of the region.
The PRO 13 information office said in their press release that increased police visibility will also be implemented in public areas and places of convergence like airports, terminals, markets, and seaports. Bomb-sniffing dogs will also be deployed by the Caraga police the densely populated areas in the region.
Felix calls for public’s support and cooperation by reporting to the nearest stations any suspicious persons or activities related to crime or terrorism. Caraga’s police chief also urged all public information officers, and police commanders to inform the public on the intensified security measures being implemented in connection with the bombing in Davao City last Friday.
