AROUND 200 food packs from the Provincial Capitol of Misamis Oriental have been brought early this morning to the Tagoloan Dome as an aid to the flood victims from Barangay Casinglot of Tagoloan town.
Gov. Peter Unabia has also directed the personnel of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to bring in canned goods and several sacks of rice for the flood victims, some of them were seeking shelter at the Casinglot covered court.
The hardest hit in the province flood spawned by Typhoon Neneng, several families in the low-lying areas of Casinglot and those living near the dikes and river banks have started evacuating on Sunday noon.
Tagoloan mayor, lawyer Nadia Emano-Elipe, was in close coordination with Sangguniang Bayan kagawad Mikka Nabong Sultan and Kim Agustero in facilitating the province's support with the help of Meso head Merlie Emano who personally led in repacking the Tagoloan local government’s own relief packs.
At least 68 families or 303 individuals have been accommodated at the Tagoloan Dome, according to Lyn Paguidopon Sabellano of the Provincial Capitol.
In Cagayan de Oro, city vice mayor Jocelyn ‘Bebot’ Rodriguez assured the readiness of the Barangay Nazareth gym for those heavily affected in Barangays Puerto and Bugo where a former security guard died due to flood drowning.
“Andam na sab among mga de lata, bugas ug uban pa nga hinabang. Basta serbisyo publiko anaa gayod permi gauna among barangay sa Nazareth ilabi na panahon sa trahedya,” Chief Tanod Marlon ‘Pinggoy’ Castro told Gold Star Daily.
