DIGOS City ― A 21-year-old suspect was rushed to a government hospital after bystanders beat him following a busted attempt to rob a nearby store at Purok Nangka, Barangay San Miguel, this city, last Saturday.
Lt. Col. Hamlet Lerios, Digos City's acting police chief narrated in his report about a robbery incident at Jhun and Jhoy Store in Barangay San Miguel at 1:20 am on January 28.
Christine Joy Navaira, 36, the owner said she discovered the attempt to ransack the store while reviewing the online CCTV installed inside the structure using her cellular phone wherein the suspect is still in the building.

Sensing the store is being robbed, the Navaira couple rushed to the area which is just a few meters away from their residence to verify and catch the culprit who was still inside and alert their neighbors about the presence of a thief.
When the police arrived at the area, the suspect identified as Warren Jay Villanueva, a resident of the same place was already mobbed by furious neighbors who caught him in the possession of a flat screw, two boxes of liquor estimated to cost P3,120.
Villanueva was swiftly brought to the hospital for a physical examination before transporting to the police station for a proper disposition of the case.
