By Sita Asequia and Adelfa Lachica Correspondents   Iligan City — A businessman has been shot dead by three unidentified suspects on Wednesday at Barangay Hinaplanon’s gymnasium, this city. Operatives from Police Station 5, led by Senior Insp. Felix Rabago, Jr identified the fatality as Bricky Basalo Renes, 44, married, and resides near the gymnasium. Renes succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds to his left chest and to the different parts of his torso. Scene of the Crime Operatives, led by Chief Insp. Leslie Sigualan said Renes died on the spot. Sigualan’s team was able to recover four spent bullets of a .45 caliber pistol. According to a witness, Nelson Llanes who happened around 7:40 pm, Renes was sitting on a cemented bench in the gymnasium, watching a basketball game when three suspects wearing jackets and helmets shot him at point-blank range. The three suspects hurriedly rode their motorcycles and fled to different directions after the shooting. Police are currently investigating the shooting.
