CAGAYAN de Oro residents living near the Bigaan Bridge along the National Highway appealed to Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy’s office to address what they say has become a growing garbage build up.

The trash has been piling up for some time, according to residents.
One woman, who identified herself only as Gina, said the waste now gives off a foul odor and attracts swarms of flies.

She urged city officials to act immediately, warning that the situation poses a health risk, especially to children.
As of 1:30 pm Wednesday, September 24, a thick pile of garbage still remained at the site.
