THE barangay chairman of Valencia City, who contracted Covid-19 while taking part in a cock derby in Davao in March, has recovered.

He tested negative for Covid-19 along with his aide who was listed as a “probable” virus carrier.

This was announced by the Valencia city government on its official Facebook account this morning.

The village official contracted the virus after attending the now controversial 6-cock derby in Matina, Davao City, on March 12.

Although asymptomatic, swab specimens were taken from him after contact tracing. This was after an outbreak of Covid-19 cases in Davao that affected mostly cock-fighting aficionados.

With this, Bukidnon no longer has a record of any Covid-19 patient. (Uriel C. Quilinguing)
