With the increase in cases also came a rise in Covid-19 deaths. In just three days since last Thursday, the health department registered 33 deaths throughout the region, 21 of which were recorded mostly in Cagayan de Oro last Sunday.
Moreno confirmed that the epidemiologist, Dr. Teodulfo Joselito Retuya Jr., was admitted to the state-run Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC), but he declined to give details about his medical condition.
“If you want patients to live, the ideal ratio is one nurse for every three patients. But if they proceed with this plan, it’s going to be one nurse for six to seven patients,” an NMMC health worker said.
