BUTUAN City--Mayor Ferdinand Amante Jr. and his running mate ex-congressman Roan Libarios have conceded to the group of Mayor-elect Ronnie Vicente Lagnada.
Lagnada’s ticket defeated Amante and all his candidates. The engineer was proclaimed winner in this week’s elections on Tuesday.
Lagnada’s candidate for congressman, Rep. Lawrence Fortun, and running mate former congressman Jose Aquino also won down to the city council seats.
But Amante and Libarios called on Lagnada and the the other winners to fulfill their campaign promise for real change, transparency and good governance. They said Lagnada can start it before July 1 and come clean by divesting all of his huge business interests that are seen to be in conflict with public interests.
One, they said, is Lagnada’s interests as chief executive officer and president of Equiparco Construction. The firm has been awarded projects by the public works department, and.
Another, they said, is Lagnada interests in Twin Peak Hydro Resources Corp. and Taguibo Aquatech Solutions that are involved in the controversial bulk water supply project here.
