POLICE authorities in Claveria, Misamis Oriental will be filing appropriate charges against a 28-year-old suspected of killing a minor who was found lifeless at a creek in Sitio Ban-Ban, Barangay Ane-i in Claveria town province of Misamis Oriental at about 1:00 am on March 4.

The suspect was identified as Ariel Bayod Limas, married, and a resident of Sitio Minantang, Claveria.

In a phone interview this morning, PNP-10 Spokesperson Maj. Joann Navarro said they are set to file charges against the suspect as soon as the autopsy of the minor is done.

It was learned that the suspect surrendered to the Claveria police last Saturday early morning after the minor’s body was found at the creek.

The body of the minor was found in a creek in a prone position, covered with a gunny sack and a big stone in Sitio Ban-ban, Barangay Ani-e, Claveria in Misamis Oriental, Navarro said.

The minor had been missing since March 1, Navarro added.

Based on a spot report, the suspect told the authorities that at about 3 pm on March 1, he grabbed the minor who was walking alone along a cornfield.

He confessed that he choked the minor until she fainted and that he slammed the minor’s head to a big rock and then hid the dead body in the creek.
