SPECIAL Assistant to the Governor Celso Abocejo said Monday that Misamis Oriental Governor Juliette Uy’s tone of voice is often misinterpreted, leading people to believe she is scolding capitol employees.
“Pangutana ra man, dili man kasaba,” Abocejo addressed the issue on Brigada News FM.
He explained that Uy has a naturally loud and deep voice, which can sound like she is angry even when she is only asking questions.
“Para sa uban kasaba kay dako bayag tingog si gov, dako baya nag tingog unya buo kaayog tingog,” Abocejo said.
The issue was raised by Board Member Dexter Yasay, who said the “over the counter” payment scheme, meant for interaction, has turned into an opportunity for employees to be “grilled.”
While Abocejo acknowledged that Uy can sound angry, he said she only speaks her mind when employees are being “hangal kaayo.”
“Mao nang iya gyud maistoryahan nga kamo ayahay kaayo mo sauna, abusado mo,” he said.
Abocejo insisted that the governor’s remarks are meant to be a reminder for employees to improve their work, describing her as a typical mother giving advice.
