ILIGAN City ― I was shocked by what happened. Or what could have happened?
There I was in a living room witnessing the investigations of the QuadCom of the House of Representatives with Cong. Robert Ace Barbers presiding. And here are some of the cast of characters worth mentioning: FPRRD, Former senator, Leila De Lima, and Former senator, Antonio Trillanes IV.
The main protagonists were Trillanes and FPRRD.
The good thing about modern technology these days is that you see it as if you were all there to witness it firsthand, via this platform called YouTube.
Tatay Digong was just one seat apart from De Lima. Yet you can see that there was bad blood between them. Each of them was looking the other way. The past is still fresh, especially for poor Leila, who had just walked out of prison after seven years, that is after she had been acquitted of those "fabricated" drug charges, she had said in an earlier interview by some national media outlets in Manila.
Now, I saw Trillanes coming out complete with illustrations for everyone to see the bank accounts of the Dutertes. The names of Digong and his children were there with corresponding amounts. Even the name of Cilieto Avancena was there. And I thought that her name was Honeylet. Anyway, what's in a name, they say.
Trillanes revealed per his statements to the committee that these bank accounts had some transfers to each of them every April and October of each year. This is as payment for their being very much "involved in illegal drugs." So, I understood that the family was very much "involved' in this kind of money-making scheme. With such names as Michael Yang and others.
The former senator also name-dropped Arturo Lascanas in the matter of validation. Meaning he was "sure". Really.
A visibly irked Du30 said that they could all look into these accounts.
Would he sign a "waiver" on the matter-- that people could look into them?
Taking up the challenge, one investigator asked if he could sign the waiver, today and not tomorrow.
That reminded me about two cats, with one cat, saying "now, now" and another saying 'tomorrow, tomorrow."
DU30 said that he is willing to do that. But in return, he would also slap Trillanes now too in public.
At this point, the two seemed to be in a fighting mood. With the two standing;
Cool heads though intervened. And Trillanes soon walked away from his seat. Even as FPRRD was also urged to stay away from his seat. Mr. Chair then announced that there would be suspensions of the proceedings of the investigations for the moment.
When the former president and the former senator had returned to their seats, Digong apologized.
It occurred to me: Was that a technique? To aid in the matter of distraction of bank accounts of the family?
