SEVEN persons landed in a hospital after the public utility jeepney they were riding plunged into a lower portion of the road at Zone 1, Upper Sta. Ana, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental yesterday morning.

According to a police report, prepared by Police Lt. Gieve Mañale assigned at Tagoloan Police Station, the accident happened after the vehicle’s brake, driven by a certain Cesar Raiz, 50, residing at Poblacion, Malitbog of the said province, malfunctioned.

Luckily, no one was killed but all of the passengers sustained minor to serious injuries to the different parts of their bodies.

Police identified the injured as Cesar Raiz, Jr., 15, (driver’s son), he sustained a serious injury to his right leg; Eddie Ubaub, 56; Jay Ryan Tacbobo, 30. All are residents of Bagong Silang, Sta. Ines, Malitbog, Bukidnon.

The other passengers are Rodilyn Jalinon, 27, and her daughter Mariam, both residing at Villa Mangga, Malitbog; and Mark Vincent Ellevera, 24, a resident of San Luiz, of the same municipality, all of them only sustained minor injuries.

All of the injured were brought to St. Paul Hospital for treatment.
