POLICE authorities arrested a 50-year-old resident of Balingasag in Misamis Oriental for illegal possession of a firearm and explosives.
Police Provincial Director Raniel Valones identified the suspect as Ruben Ayuma alias “Masi/Joe,” a native of Sotio Lantad, Barangay Kibanban of the said town and province.
Tagged by police as the 6th most wanted person at the municipal level, Ayuma was arrested by personnel assigned at Balingasag Municipal Police Station led by Police Major together with the elements of Provincial Intelligence Unit, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit on Tuesday at 1:30 pm at Barangay Linggangao of the said barangay.
The operation was conducted by virtue of a warrant of arrest for the crime of illegal possession, manufacture, acquisition of firearms, and ammunition or explosives.
Judge Ana Casiño of the Regional Trial Court-10-Branch 17 Cagayan de Oro City, recommended the suspect no bail bond.
Ayuma is now under the custody of Balingasag Municipal Police Station for booking and documentation and will be turned over to the issuing court for proper disposition.
However, the suspect remains innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
