A 4Ps beneficiary is now languishing in jail after he was arrested by members of the Cagayan de Oro Police Office yesterday morning.

Police Col. Aaron Mandia, Acting Police City Director, identified the suspect as Michael Macapaar, 37, a resident of Creek Side Adela, Barangay Camaman-an, this city.

He was arrested by police personnel assigned at Police Station 2 in Cogon, led by Police Capt. Ernesto Sanchez through a search warrant issued by Judge Evelyn Nery, Presiding Judge of Regional Trial Court-10.

During the search, the raiding team seized 10 sachets of suspected shabu placed in a wallet. It has a total street value of 27,000.

Macapaar, police said, is a member of the government's Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

The 4Ps main goal is to break the inter-generational cycle of poverty of Filipinos.

The operation was witnessed by Camaman-an Councilor Alicia Cabili.

The suspect is now under custody at Cogon police mini-cell pending filing of illegal possession of drugs.
