POLICE authorities arrested two rape suspects in separation operations conducted in Bukidnon and Cotabato yesterday.
Joel Canoy, 40, unemployed, a resident of Zone 8, San Miguel, Maramag, Bukidnon was the first to be arrested by elements of Maramag Municipal Police headed by Police Lt. Col. Julius Clark Macariola IV.
He was arrested inside his residence at about 3:30 pm by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Rainera Osua of the Regional Trial Court-Branch 18, Midsayap, North Cotabato.
Other arresting units were Regional Special Operation Unit-10, Banisilan Municipal Police Station, Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Unit Tracker Team, 1st Bukidnon Police Mobile Force Company, and 1003rd Regional Mobile Force Company-10.
Two hours later another rape suspect, a 21-year-old, was arrested by elements of Valencia City Police Station.
Valencia Chief of Police Lt. Col. John Ray Barazan identified the suspect as Harley Dave Bordomeo, a resident of Zone 1, Koronadal City.
He was nabbed at about 5:25 pm at Zone 7, San Isidro, Valencia City, Bukidnon.
Judge Jordan Reyes of the Regional Trial Court, 11th Judicial Region-Branch 42, Koronadal City, recommended him no bail bond.
In the country, rape or sexual abuse is considered a heinous crime.
Both of the suspects are now under the custody of their respective police detention centers.
