By Shiela Mae Butlig, Correspondent CITY Councilor Reuben Daba, committee on social services chair, is eyeing on authoring a city ordinance which seeks to disallow business establishments from selling liquors and alcoholic beverages after 11 pm. Daba said this ordinance will not only “save families,” it will also contribute to decrease criminality in the city. “Wala nay asawa, ginikanan, ug anak nga mabalaka kung asa ang ilang bana, anak ug amahan nahubog,” Daba pointed out. Daba reasoned that by disallowing establishments from selling alcoholic beverages to their customers after 11 pm, they would have no choice but “to go home.” “Pwede sila mu-order hantod pila ilang gusto pero ug muabot na ang alas onse, these establishments will be reprimanded nga di na sila mudawat og order. Huroton nalang to nila ilang na order og muuli na kay wala naman sila’y choice kay wa na silay mapalitan,” Daba explained.
