Gingoog City — A drug suspect was killed when he tried to shoot it out with the authorities during a buy-bust operation at Barangay 18-A, this city on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Supt. Roel Lami-ing, Gingoog chief of police identified the fatality as Nusair Ameril.
Lami-ing confirmed that Ameril was the target of the buy-bust operation.
He said Ameril was killed because he drew his revolver and open fired at the police. Ameril’s companion managed to slip away during the shootout, Lami-ing added.
“The suspect was tagged no. 13 in the illegal drugs watchlist in the city,” Lami-ing said.
Police recovered from Ameril one .357 caliber revolver, ammunition, and one sachet of suspected shabu. (Edwin Iyo)
