A security guard was wounded and arrested by police over an alleged foiled robbery of a businessman in Bellvue Subdivision Upper Carmen Tuesday night.
Chief Insp. Ritchie Salva, station commander of Police Station 4 Carmen said they recovered a .38 caliber revolver with serial no. 3001301, two live bullets and three empty shells from the suspect identified as Romel Franco, of Barangay Tignapoloan and currently detailed as security guard of the subdivision.
Investigation revealed that Franco allegedly pointed a gun to Edgar Abroguena, 47, while urinating but who was able to run and asked for assistance. While suspect fled and hid in a grassy portion of the subdivision.
Salva said when the operatives of PS4 together with other special units conducted a clearing operation in the area, the suspect allegedly fired at the policemen which prompted the team to shoot back and hit Franco’s leg and was rushed to J.R. Borja General Hospital.
