A total of 320 drug responders from seven barangays in Valencia City has completed the Community-Based Rehabilitation Program under the Mama-mayang Ayaw Sa Anomal-ya, Mamamayang Ayaw Sa Ilegal na Droga (Masa Masid) of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
First to culminate the program is Barangay Poblacion, followed by Barangays Catumbalon, Nabag-o, Pina-tilan, Dagatkidavao, Sinabua-gan, Maapag, Sinayawan, Tongantongan, and Mabuhay.
Other remaining barangays are also expected to conduct the culmination of CBRP in the following months.
Drug personalities who surrendered to the authorities have undergone 26 days holistic approach to rehabilitation with the help of the Masa Masid Team, participating barangay, volunteer experts, and practitioners in the medical and psycho-social fields.
The rehabilitation focused on the healing of the body, mind, and soul through counseling and other therapeutic sessions.
The City Government of Valencia through the leadership of Mayor Azucena Huervas supported the culmination of rehabilitation program in the different barangays and has been working hard to curb the use of illegal drugs and help the drug responders through the Masa Masid program be reintegrated back to their communities as productive members.
