"Pagsulong ng Pamilyang Pilipino sa Panahon ng Pagbabago"
The Unilab Foundation and Heads Up PH through the Bayanihan for Wellbeing launched the country’s first –ever two-day family wellbeing virtual conference on February 12, and 13 joined by various NGOs and media outlet nationwide the event aims to promote the mental wellbeing of each and every Filipino family through a series of holistic health sessions. The first day tackled the challenges of Filipino Families during the pandemic, and on its last day highlighted how to strengthen it and shared stories of ordinary Filipino families that are going through the hardship brought about the pandemic and how they coped as a family.
Dr. Carolina Uno-Rayco, ang National Executive Director ng Philippine Mental Health Association, emphasize how important it is to listen to your family members regarding their problems especially now during the pandemic, and to offer support to one another: "Let's maintain a positive, and respectful family atmosphere where family members can open up about their concerns without fear of being ridiculed.”
Shiena Base ng Educo Philippines for her part said the importance of childrens voices in the family for it to be whole: "The collective voices of family wellbeing should always involve the voices of children."
The Bayanihan for WellBeing is a campaign that brings together learners and youth organizations, parents’ and teachers’ groups, counselors’, doctors, and professional associations, NGOs, and government agencies.
The said virtual even was launched via Zoom and shared live through the Bayanihan For Wellbeing Facebook page in cooperation with the Philippines Psychiatric Association, Psychological Association of the Philippines lead by its Vice President, Dr. Glenn Glarino., Philippine Guidance and Counseling Association Inc., Philippine Society for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Philippine Pediatric Society and was attended by, Unilab Foundation, Executive Director Lilibeth C. Aristorenas and Heads Up PH, Unilab Foundation Program Director, Dr. Sheila Marie Hocson among others.
