RTA’s excuses vs real solutions for Christmas traffic

I recently heard on the radio that the RTA has asked the public for understanding because of the expected traffic mess in the city during the Christmas season. What makes me wonder is that the RTA has not offered any solution to address what it projects to be a traffic mess.

It seems the RTA is good only at making excuses but has remained incompetent and incapable of solving the traffic problem of Cagayan de Oro. Even with the many consultants under its roster, that office remains inept, incompetent, and unable to perform its mandate.

What is the Mayor doing about this? Is not the incompetence of the RTA to address the traffic problem also reflective of the incompetence of the Mayor? Before the public draws this conclusion, he had better address the traffic problem with haste. I am still confident the Mayor is capable in his role as the leader of the city.

Christmas season is fast approaching. As expected, illegal vendors will again occupy streets especially in areas in and around the public markets. That is a given, yet I have not heard of any solution offered by the city.

As unsolicited advice, the Mayor has to closely look into how the RTA is managed. Is Engr. Oclarit competent to head that department? Are the consultants really contributing to any solution to the problem, or are they only good at holding meetings to no end?

Has the Mayor already addressed the toxic sister of the RTA head? All he needs to do is ask people in that department how this toxic sister abuses her relationship with the department head to the point where she allegedly uses RTA resources for her personal business in that office.

The grapevine says RTA employees are even used to carry cases of soft drinks that the sister sells in the office. Of course, this is coupled with the alleged use of RTA vehicles in buying what she sells in that office.

One consequence of this is the demoralization of the employees of the RTA. And we continue to wonder why the RTA is incapable of offering even one solution to the traffic problem.
