Iligan City — An unscheduled power blackout caught residents by surprise as the whole city plunged in darkness last Friday.
Elizabeth Ladaga, communications specialist of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) in a text message said there was a tripping of Agus, Mapalad/Palao 69 KV which serves the Iligan Light and Power, Inc.
After 4 hours, NGCP texted again that power has been restored again at 5:04 pm. The cause of the blackout, she said, was “an insulator failure of a structure located in Palao, this city.”
To recall, in other city-wide power outages, NGCP said snakes would sometimes trip power lines.
