FORMER Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Chief Minister Al-Haj Murad Ebrahim emphasized in an interview Saturday that he was removed from the post, not that he resigned.
“Inalis na nila muna ako bilang Chief Minister, bago ako nag resign sa posisyon bilang MP,” Ebrahim said in an interview with Bandera News TV-Cotabato on Saturday during the United Bangsamoro Justice Party grand rally in Maguindanao Del Sur.
Ebrahim, who is also the UBJP president and chairman of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, said there is no split in their group as members of the MILF.
However, he emphasized that the first parliamentary election should push through as a way for them to have their own government, and that there is “no way for dictation.”
“Ang gobyerno ay hindi dapat mamaniobra. Dapat ang i-appoint nila ay yung rekomendado naming 41 dahil kapag sila ang nailagay, sila rin ang magpapasya kung sino ang Chief Minister,” Ebrahim said, referring to the government’s choice of current Barmm Chief Abdulrauf Macacua, who Ebrahim said was not among their 41 choices.
For him, removing him from the post was an insult, and so he decided to resign, Ebrahim explained.
In a previous interview, the former chief minister extended his support to the new Barmm Chief Abdulrauf ‘Sammy’ Macacua.
