ILIGAN City ― This city’s lone district representative and vice mayor yesterday offered their sympathies to the friends and family of the death of the pilot of the ill-fated C-130 plane that crash in Sulu on Sunday.
Rep. Frederick Siao said he knew Maj. Michael Binolirao, a resident of this city.
“We always exchange pleasantries whenever we meet. I call him (Binolirao) ‘angel of the sky,’” Siao said.
For his part, Vice Mayor Jemar Vera Cruz also offered his condolences to the Binolirao family, adding that they had come across each other several times.
To recall, the C-130, with tail #5125, tried to land in Jolo last Sunday but missed its landing and eventually crashing in Barangay Bangkal, Patikul town in Sulu.
The plane was piloted by Maj. Emmanuel Makalintal, along with Binolirao.
The relatives and friends of Binolirao here have been calling each other or posting on social media expressing their grief over what happened to Binolirao.
