BUTUAN City––An evangelical preacher was shot dead inside his church while was delivering a sermon in front of his followers in Barangay Jubgan, San Francisco, Surigao del Norte, on Sunday. Police identified the victim as The Rev. Allan Sumayang Ursabia, 45, pastor of the Lord Jesus Christ Fellowship Church. He was a married man who lived in Bagong Silang, Barangay Washington, Surigao City. Investigators said the pastor was shot by two armed men who barged into the church at around 9:30 am on Sunday morning. Witnesses said the armed men approached the pulpit, and without saying anything, shot the preacher at pointblank range in front of his shocked followers. The killers then fled with a red 100cc motorcycle driven by a another suspect. The victim was rushed to the Surigao Medical Center in Surigao City but was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor. Police found nine empty shells and two slugs from a caliber .45 pistol at the crime scene.
