THE Sangguniang Panlungsod in the city of Gingoog has passed a resolution during its regular session yesterday requesting Regional Director Atty. Patricio Bernales of the National Bureau Investigation-10 to establish a satellite office here.
City Vice Mayor Thaddeus P. Lugod said the move is favorable to the people of Gingoog to have an NBI satellite office here.
The majority members of the City Council through the same resolution also asked City Mayor Erick G. Cañosa to fund the operational expense of the proposed satellite office, provide the necessary office equipment, and at least three personnel in the form of job order employees.
City Councilor Conrado Gomez, chair of the committee on peace and order, said there is a need to have a satellite office here to minimize the difficulties of the residents traveling to Cagayan de Oro City or to Butuan City just to secure NBI clearances.
He said going to Butuan and Cagayan de Oro is about a two- to four-hour travel time, respectively.
“Dako gayod kaayo ang ikatabang ngadto’s atong mga katawhan kung naa na ang NBI satellite office dinhi sa Gingoog nga dili na kinahanglan moadto pa sa Cagayan de Oro o didto sa Butuan,” Lugod said.
