POLICE have arrested a female suspect through an entrapment operation for alleged online sexual abuse and exploitation. The operation also resulted in the rescue of four female victims at about 2:00 pm Wednesday, somewhere in Gingoog City.

Police Maj. Joan Navarro, Philippine National Police provincial spokesperson said personnel of the Women and Children Protection Center-Mindanao Field Unit (WCPC-MFU) of the PNP based in Camp Vicente Alagar in Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City.

Police Capt. Racquel L. Sumerwe led the entrapment and rescue operation, Navarro added.

Authorities have refused to reveal the location where the suspect was arrested and the victims were rescued.

The elements of WCPC-MFU also confiscated pieces of evidence in the possession of the suspect said Navarro.

She said the identity of the suspect was done through online surveillance and cyber patrolling initiated by the Internet Crime Against Children Investigators of WCPC-MFU.

“The team encountered the Skype account owned by the suspect that led to her arrest,” Navarro added.

The victims were two minors and two adults with ages ranging from 17 to 22 years of age, Navarro said.

Navarro said the suspect was allegedly offering minor victims to online sex in exchange for money.
